Overview. NOTIFIER's offers a variety of intelligent monitor modules for diverse applications. Monitor modules supervise a circuit of dry-contact input devices, such as conventional heat detectors and pull stations, or monitor and power a circuit of two-wire smoke detectors.

Morley IAS MI-DCMO Single Output Control Module

The Morley-IAS MI-DCMO control output module is used with the ZX series of intelligent control panels to provide either a single alarm circuit or Form C relay. The MI-DCMO can be used to operate dry contacts for door holders, air handling unit shut down or other similar functions. Optionally the module can be used to supervise wiring to the output load providing monitoring of the external load voltage or power supply.

If the monitored voltage falls below threshold then a fault condition will be indicated. Each MI-DCMO uses one of the ninety-nine possible module addresses available on a loop. It responds to regular polling from the control panel indicated by a pulsing LED every successful communication. On command from the control panel the MI-DCMO will disconnect the supervision and connect the external power supply across the load. The disconnection of the supervision provides a positive indication to the control panel that the relay is activated. The MI-DCMO has a built-in isolator which may be switched out if required.

Morley IAS MI-DISO Loop Isolation Module

The Morley-IAS loop isolator module is used on the Morley-IAS intelligent fire alarm control panels to protect the system against wire-to-wire short circuits on the analogue addressable loop wiring. The fault isolator modules should be placed between groups of sensors on the loop wiring to protect the loop if a short circuit fault occurs.

If a short circuit fault occurs, the two isolators located either side of the short circuit fault will automatically sense the voltage drop, open their switches, and remove the devices from the rest of the loop. If the line voltage then rises above a fixed threshold, indicating that the short circuit fault is removed, then the isolator module will automatically restore the power to the isolated group of devices.

The MI-DISO isolator uses a unique mechanical design allowing each module to be mounted either in a wall box or on a DIN rail. Irrespective of the mounting method chosen, the address switch is both visible and accessible for selection. To help engineers in the maintenance and fault-finding process, both the LEDs and the address switches can be viewed without having to remove the cover of the mounting box. The LEDs, being multi-colour, provide diagnostic information regarding the status of the isolator.

Morley IAS MI-DMMI Single Input Monitor Module

The MI-DMMI monitor modules are used with the Morley-IAS intelligent fire alarm control panels to provide a single input circuit from external devices. Each input is continuously monitored for normal, open circuit and alarm conditions.

Changes to the status of the input circuits are communicated to the panel where the appropriate actions may be undertaken. The MI-DMMI requires a single of the 99-possible module addresses available on a loop. It responds to regular polling from the control panel indicated by a pulsing LED every successful communication.

FUNCTION

The Input/Output Unit with Isolator provides two voltage-free, single pole, change-over relay outputs, a single monitored switch input and an unmonitored, polarised opto-coupled input.

 

FEATURES

The Input/Output Unit supervises one or more normally-open switches connected to a single pair of cables.

The Input/Output Unit is fitted with a bi-directional short-circuit isolator and will be unaffected by loop short-circuits on either loop input or output.

ELECTRICAL CONSIDERATIONS

The Input/Output Unit is loop powered and operates at 17-28V DC with protocol voltage pulses of 5-9V.

PROTOCOL COMPATIBILITY

The unit will operate only with control equipment using the Apollo XP95° or Discovery® protocol.

MECHANICAL CONSTRUCTION

 

The Input/Output Unit is normally supplied with a backbox for surface mounting. It is also available without the backbox for flush mounting. Both ver­sions are designed for indoor use only.One red LED is illuminated to indicate that the relay is set. The second red LED is illuminated to indicate that the switch input is closed.

One yellow LED is illuminated whenever a fault condition (open or short circuit) has been detected

The other LED is illuminated whenever the built-in isolator has sensed a short-circuit loop fault.

The FRM-1 Relay Control Module is intended for use in intelligent, two-wire systems where the individual address of each module is selected using the built-in rotary switches. It allows a compatible control panel to switch discrete contacts by code command. The relay contains two isolated sets of Form-C contacts, which operate as a DPDT switch and are rated in accordance with the table in the manual. Circuit connections to the relay contacts are not supervised by the module. The module also has a panel controlled LED indicator. This module can be used to replace a CMX-2 module that has been configured for Form-C operation.
